Description: |
Includes interviews with Dr. Condoleezz Rice, Lisa Ling, Nancy Pelosi, Katie Couric, Rachel Maddow, Rosario Dawson, Dr. Jackson Katz, Dr. Jean Kilbourne and Gloria Steinem and interweaves these interviews with stories of teenage girls to show an inside look at the media and its messages about women. With media being an omnipresent and pervasive, powerful force in our society we are finding that we are yet again teaching a new generation of girls that their primary value lies in their youth, beauty and sexuality rather than in their capacity to lead, obtain leadership positions and reach their full potential. This documentary offers startling facts and encourages all of us to question media portrayals about gender and our values. What can we do to ensure equality? What can we do to empower girls and women?
